Mr.Pellikoduku Story: Buchi Babu (Sunil) is an NRI who comes to India to get married. His parents set off looking matches for him. In the process, he goes to see Anjali (Isha Chawla). He falls for her instantly and says okay for the match. Later he comes to know that she is already in love with some one and breaks the marriage on her request. But Buchi Babu could not take his heart away from her. Few weeks later, he meets Anjali once again in a marriage and the rest of the story is about the happenings and twists that take place in their lives.
How they performed?:
Sunil is usual with his comic timing and performance. His dances are electrifying and will definitely play big role in making this film a hit. Lot of hard work is put in by him. His training for six pack abs took a heavy toll on his face, he should immediately look out for some way to bring his face back to shape. His make up in the movie is too bad.
Isha Chawla is good. Ali as Bachi, Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam as Buchi Babu’s father. Ravi Babu as comedy villain, MS Narayana as Narayana have contributed their parts. Rest of them are all okay.
Technical Performances:
Mr.Pellikoduku is the official remake of Bollywood super hit movie, Tanu weds Manu. Director Devi Prasad had made some changes in the movie to suit our nativity. The changes are more in the second half in which more melodrama scenes are added. The proceedings get slowed in the second half. And the songs come very too often and disrupt the flow of the movie. The scenes between Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut are major highlight of the original but that kind of chemistry is missing here.
SA Raj Kumar’s music and rerecording is aweful. Sameer Reddy’s cinematography is okay. Editing by Nandamuri Hari should have been a lot better in the second half.
Final Say:
Comedy worked out to some extent in the first half complimented by some good dances. The second half of the movie has too much of melodrama stuff which slow down the pace of the movie. Added to it, the misplaced songs hamper the pace further. On a whole, Mr.Pellikoduku is really bad stuff. Watch it at your own risk.
